On the cover: Mandelbrot fractal trace of the human hepatocellular carcinoma cell line, HC-04, at 24 hours following treatment with hepatocyte growth factor (HGF). The cells are stained for α-tubulin (Red) and nuclear DNA (Blue). Our study compared the proteomic changes following HGF treatment of HC-04, which is known to support invasion and development of the human malaria parasite,Plasmodium falciparum versus the commonly used HepG2 cell line, which does not.
